A speculative material laboratory brings the body into direct contact with architecture.
Created by AslieMk, the performance duo of Aslı Dinç and Mustafa Kemal Yurttaş, POST investigates the relationship between bodies, living spaces and everyday objects through a posthumanist perspective.
Spectators enter a laboratory in a dystopian future, where the desire to personalise and design the world extends into biological matter. Partly dead bodily tissues are transferred to architecture in an experiment in hybridising body and space.
Part of AslieMk’s performance series 8, POST was presented in Hactivate Yourself at 1a space in Hong Kong, curated by Tuçe Erel.

AslieMk Duo Project
2012–2019 / Performance duo
Developed as part of AslieMk, the long-term performance duo of Aslı Dinç and Mustafa Kemal Yurttaş. Active between 2012 and 2019, AslieMk worked across performance, sculpture, video, sound and experimental laboratory formats, exploring posthuman embodiment, psychogeography, ghostly becoming and hybrid systems.
Every AslieMk performance also takes shape as an installation. The duo developed a practice of performance remains as installation: objects, materials and traces generated through live action continue to inhabit the space, carrying the performance into an extended material afterlife.
